» mitchkaplan1 - Best Guidebooks

we're very partial to rick steves' europe guide books - they speak directly to our sensibilities. also like the time out city guides, which pull no punches, or at least only a few punches.

In response to Guidebooks we trust posted by mitchkaplan1:

Yes, and the Time Out punches are usually square on the nose, too. The detail in those books is astonishing, and although tey are opinionated, I find them fair. The only problem is that they are almost entirely city guides, and we like to wander in the country. But they do inlcude regional sections for most of their guides, so they reach out a little bit from the urban centers.
