- Vigo, Spain Shore Excursion
I'm visiting Vigo on a transatlantic ruise next week. Been all over Spain but never to Vigo. Do you know anything about it or what to see in a day there?

- Vigo Spain Shore Excursion
In response to A question about vigo posted by PhyllisZ: You're in luck. I have been to Vigo, both as a cruise port-of-call and traveling by land. Read the article on Vigo to learn all the options, but my best recommendation, if you have not been there, is to sign up for the shore excursion to Santiago de Compostella. It is one of Spain's top sights, and you can easily see its highlights on the usual shore excursion.

- Knights Templar Sites in Spain
In response to Knights Templar Sites in Spain posted by tr6: In Segovia there is the Templar church of La Vera Cruz, in the valley of Eresma, below the Alcazar. And in Portugal, at Tomar, is the headquarters of the Portuguese brotherhood that carried on after the Knights Templars were disbanded by the Pope.
Like you, I'm looking for others myself.

In response to Knights Templar Sites in Spain posted by ciaomondo: I've located two more places in Spain that are connected to the Knights Templar: the castles in Ponferrada (in Leon) and Barberà .

- Guggenheim at Bilbao
Is this Guggenheim any relation to the Guggenheim in New York City? Frank Gehry designed the Strada Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. Fabulous building, he used titanium in there also.

- Genoa and Christopher Columbus
In response to Genoa posted by franfolsom: From contemporary documents relating to Comumbus, it's pretty certain that he was born in Genoa, although there is no certain record. He refers to it as his home, and gave about 10% of his income as an endowment to relieve the poor from the high tax on food. So it sounds as though he was one of the original nice-guys with a social conscience, too.

- Guggenheim at Bilbao
In response to Guggenheim at Bilbao posted by franfolsom: The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York is one of several that are part of the same network. These include the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and the Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin.
