This is so cool! It must surprise travelers to see a statue of Bruce Lee on the bridge. But how smart to choose someone whose principles are good models for everyone -- and don't stir up old resentments as a local hero from either side would certainly do.

This brings up another question: can anyone think of other statues and monuments that seem culturally out of place? I am thinking of a statue of Shakespeare's Juliet, beside the Old Rathaus in Munich. The fictional character of Juliet was from Verona, Italy, where the story was set and I can't figure out why her statue is in Germany.

Maybe it's because Verona is already so full of Julietiana that it's overflowing north?
