Most people do associate Verona with Shakespeare's Juliet. It sounds like, for an opera fan, that summer would be the best time to visit Verona, what with the open air opera performances. What is there to do in winter in Verona?

The museums are all open year round, and although Verona is often foggy and gray in winter, the weather is not bitterly cold and it doesn't snow often in the city. Nearby are several ski areas -- San Georgio is quite close and Cortina is a good weekend trip.
