One of the things I like best about Portugal is "meeting" the same historic and legendary people in various parts of the country. The farmer-king Dinis and his generous wife Isabela pop up in Obidos (he gave her the entire walled town as a wedding present) and again in Estremoz, where you can stay in their castle -- now a Pousada. I'll be sure to tell stories about them in an article soon -- thanks for reminding me to write about this charming facet of travel in Portugal!
